Workshop Highlights

Conscious Discipline is a brain-based, comprehensive self-regulation program that has reached over 120,000 teachers and 3 million children with remarkable success. It raises academic achievement, transforms problem behaviors into pro-social skills, and renews the joy of teaching and learning. In this interactive workshop you will learn the mindset and skillset shifts required to successfully create permanent change, including:

  • What it takes to shift from an unconscious, competitive factory model of education to a conscious, compassionate family model of education.
  • How internal emotional states dictate behavior, plus the basics of safety, connection and problem-solving via the Conscious Discipline Brain State Model.
  • Specific shifts, strategies and skills needed to create environments based on the optimal learning state of high challenge and low stress (instead of the current high challenge and high stress).
  • Strategies to create a bully-proof climate that values diversity rather than the material goods valued in reward/punishment systems.
  • Rituals and routines necessary to foster connection so students and staff feel emotionally safe enough to experience conflict as a teaching tool instead of a disruption to learning.
  • An overview of the Seven Powers for Conscious Adults, the Seven Skills of Discipline, and the structures needed to create an academic environment of empathy, altruism, cooperation and caring.
